5 Tips to Ensure Your Business has a Professional Image

  • 22nd January 2018

Although we’re taught not to judge on appearances it’s human nature to do so. Which is why it’s so important to create the right image for your business. From the first contact to the last, your image should exude professionalism, competency and efficiency.

First Impressions Count

When a new client or supplier comes through the door you need to make them feel they can do business with you. Prestigious Office Space, such as at that on offer at RTC, with a shared reception area, lift access and fully refurbished office spaces will go a long way to making you seem reputable and reliable.

Consistent Digital Presence

In fact, your visitor may already have an image of your business in their mind based on your digital presence. Keep branding and marketing messages consistent across whatever digital channels you choose to use. If you can’t keep your social media and web site fresh and active it may be better to have nothing than a frustratingly out of date, broken shop window.

Train Staff on Taking Phone Calls

Instruct your staff on a standardised way of answering the phone so that the caller knows immediately that they’ve got the right number, the right person and that that person is ready to help them. Ensure call records are kept so that other members of staff can deal with subsequent enquiries in a timely and professional manner.

Dress to Impress

If you’re running a professional business you need to dress like a professional. Office attire might be simpler and less formal now but you should still keep a jacket (and tie if you’re a man) in your office to slip on to meet visitors. You can’t go wrong by being slightly overdressed if you’re looking to bring in new clients.

Know What You Are Talking About

Know your services and products. Even if your job isn’t to sell you should still know what your business actually does. Before you meet clients and suppliers, take a minute to read over their file to refresh your memory about who you are dealing with. Nothing puts off potential business partners more than someone who doesn’t seem to have a clue what’s going on.

Your business image is vitally important to the success of your business so it pays to devote some effort and cash to get it right from day one.
